10 years, my, my!

10 years ago, we found a pathetic puppy in the middle of the road. Most likely, a 'drop-off' as he was in an area of no houses on our country road. I love my little guy, as many of you love your precious  pets. He's like one of my kids. I was going to make a collage of him, picking out my favorite pictures and ended up looking at pictures for over an hour. Most of them are my favorite. I did pick out a new header, one I call, "Get a long little doggie." It's from about 5 years ago. (Taken in front of part of the house that isn't there anymore)

I would like to do a doggie DNA on him, just for fun. It's interesting to hear people, like the vet, try to figure out his ancestry. This new vet has him as a doxie mix. The other one thought fiest. Don't worry, I am not going to do that while I still have my faculties.

Assorted pictures from his younger days. I must have a thousand. How about you, do you take pictures of your fur babies as if they are children? I have two right now, and it brings me to tears to think I won't have them forever.
Happy Gotcha Day, Jack!

  1. Jack does remind me of a doxie. A very sweet looking guy. I love the photo of him sleeping with his toys. My dog does that too. I don't take a lot of photos of my dog anymore, though "he" did keep a blog of his first year with me. One day I want to learn how to do a video of him.

    1. You have a beautiful dog. His own blog? Does he speak English? I never could get 'dog talk.' I still haven't figured out how to make videos for the internet, they are all such huge files.

    2. He started writing in puppy English but ended with dog English---pawrent, instead of parents. Things like that are common in dog blogs.

    3. I must admit, Jean, my brain has great difficulty reading and understanding Dog Language. I feel so mentally handicapped. Cannot imagine trying to figure out how that's all spelled. Levi must be very intelligent!

    1. I sure am. In my lifetime, I have only had 2 dogs that I paid for. My main pets were 'found or pound' and they make the best friends.

  3. Jack is very cute. Love the pictures of him. The one with him surrounded by his toys is precious.

I do love my pets as if they are family members. I have quite a few pictures of all the pets I have or have had. My current cat is 17 and showing a little of her age. Having lost my other cat last year leaves me feeling a little vulnerable.

    1. Sorry about your other cat. I understand not wanting to open yourself up to that hurt again after that last good-bye. I didn't want another dog after some bleep hit Rough. And then I saw that skinny little, sad-eyed boy. The rest is history.

  4. Happy gottcha day! Yes I'm always talking pics of my fur babies. And I'm very glad I do. When I lost my sabastian it was nice to go through and look at the pics of him.
Jack was one very lucky puppy when you found him xxx

    1. He had been eating twigs and leaves, as his first three days with us proved. I think we both were lucky.

Gracie is really going down hill lately and It makes me sad to think that one day she will not be trying to push me out of bed with her hind legs :-( hope you all are staying cool. Summer is in full swing and man, is it hot!! Give Jack a hug for Gracie and me!

    1. Gotta love Gracie ... she's such a personality!
Neither of my dogs will go out in the heat, they stick their nose out the flap and back right back into the house. At night, after it cools down, it is very hard to get them to come in. They will be so much happier when fall gets here.

  7. I used to take photos when the pets were younger and more playful. Now all I have is Angel and he does an awful lot of sleeping, so photos really aren't worth the effort of getting out the camera.

  9. What a great home you got now, dear Jack. Happy found day! I know my Faith is part black Lab part some kind of herding dog, I think. Errol saw the daddy when he got her, but didn't think to ask what he was. The vet and I think there's some pitbull in there too, or some other kind of terrier. Anyhow, a Lab's love of water washed away with the added breeds, but the love of retrieving is still there. I would love to do a doggie
DNA on her, mostly because she's such an interesting dog.

    1. You never know about the water thing and Faith, have you taken her to a lake, river or creek? Faith is a very good looking dog, yes, a DNA on her would be interesting. If you do it - blog about it, will you?
